the beginning
a newcomer to ashtanga is always exciting for a teacher, & in a way almost endearing as we know the journey for this person can potentially be many things - one: a sold commitment, & perhaps another: an utter struggle. either way, the struggle will indefinitely be there… it’s whether or not they realize the ego.
i cannot deny the sense of wholeness i feel when a student of mine chooses the journey. it is a sense of fulfillment both for the legacy & that this person has potentially witnessed the quiet observer [the soul] within, a glimpse what the path of ashtanga seeks to unravel.
as a teacher, we cannot do anything else other then allow the space.
